Ag Commissioner says North Dakota can lead the way
Bismarck – Agriculture Commissioner Roger Johnson called on state lawmakers and officeholders to increase state funding for renewable energy development by over $15 million, to set state standards for ethanol and biodiesel, to require that 10 percent of electrical power in state owned and used facilities be from renewable energy sources, and to establish a $5 million dollar Biomass Fund. “Renewable energy is the key to our security nationally and to our economy here in North Dakota,” Johnson said

Johnson Returns from NASDA Conference with Plans for 2007 Farm Bill
As President Elect for 2007, Johnson will play a leading role
Fargo – North Dakota’s Agriculture Commissioner Roger Johnson just returned from the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) annual meeting with a strong plan to help develop a new farm bill.
“NASDA will once again play a key role in crafting the new farm bill,” Johnson said. “The plan that we’re recommending will insure that we continue to keep North Dakota’s – and America’s – agriculture industry strong.”
As President Elect of the organization for 2007, Johnson will play a key role in pushing for NASDA’s plan in Washington, as Congress debates the next farm bill. more
